I can honestly say that I don't know if there is a name most people refer to this as, but I call them intentional pouches. I actually learned about this through a psychic medium I used to see often & still talk to to this day. Of course, when she made something similar for me it was for protection - more specifically spiritual protection.
The concept of an intentional pouch is similar to the hamsa which is said to protect us from the evil eye. When the hamsa breaks it is said that it has protected you from negative energy sent your way - or that it is a warning sign for something coming. Intentional pouches are the same. For this one specifically, when the pouch breaks or comes undone the purpose has been met. That might mean something healed, you found the confidence you needed, or something on a spiritual level that is going to help you with your self-love journey. What To Do With Your Self-Love Pouch
Once you create your self-love pouch you can keep in your bra (my favorite place to keep it) or your pocket. The biggest detail about your self-love spell pouch is the intention behind it.
It's important to remember that you are the magic. You set your intentions. You heal yourself. You learn to embrace & love every aspect of yourself. Think of your pouch as a divination tool to help you on your self-love journey. Ingredients for Self-Love Spell Pouch
If you prefer the video version you can find that below and you'll notice that I chose purple fabric to make this with. I found fabric on clearance in a few different colors & purple was the one that said 'self-love' to me so I chose that to work with. If you have pink or pastels - the softer colors - those work best with the intentions of self-love.
You'll need a small approx. 3x3" square of fabric, string or something to tie it shut (and knot it 3 times - you can cut off the excess), and the ingredients below but you only need a pinch of each. Your square doesn't hold much - and if you're like me you want to stick your pouch in your bra so it would need to fit. Pink himalayan salt for healing, protection, and it's said to help restore a sense of self-love. Rosemary to call back your power and find your inner strength. Lavender to help bring calming energy & remove the outside noise so that you can connect to your Higher Self & strengthen your spiritual connection. Rose as a reminder to love yourself con conditionally, even as you navigate through your shadow. Hibiscus for a gentle love; a reminder to be patient with yourself as you heal. Jasmine is associated with the Moon & femininity, allowing you to connect to your softer side (that balance of strength and kindness). Rose Quartz for emotional healing, promoting peace & harmony, helping with self-love, acceptance, and forgiveness. Place a tiny amount of each ingredient, while setting your intentions, in the center of the square. Create a pouch with the fabric, the ingredients safely in the center, and tie it shut - knotting it three times. You can cut off the excess material and string - or leave it as is - it's your practice. Do what resonates with you. Take a few moments to connect with your pouch. What are your intentions? Is there a specific goal in mind? Something in particular you want to heal? Take a few moments each day when you put your pouch in your bra or pocket to re-focus on your intentions. Something I also like to do is say 'thank you' whenever I take the pouch out at the end of the day. Once your pouch comes apart or breaks it's said that your intentions have been fulfilled. You may not notice right away - it might have been healing on a deeper level that you may not notice for months. Or maybe you'll find that you feel yourself embracing your shadows and accepting every aspect of yourself. I know this is going to sound like a cop out, but I promise it's not. You will know if you need to remake another pouch. It will be a feeling that you aren't quite finished. It's also important to note that this should be used in addition to other work. That could be talking to yourself positively in the mirror, journaling, or spending time connecting with the darkest parts of you. Most importantly, remember.... You are magic.

I've slowly been building up my dried herbs, spices, fruits, and flowers collections for my simmer pot recipes to include the not-so-common ingredients. Jasmine is one that I recently added after finding some at my local metaphysical shop.
I instantly became obsessed with this beautiful flower after adding it to my collection - maybe it's the Pisces/water/moon association. Let's get to it - let's talk about the magickal properties of Jasmine. Basic History of Jasmine
I personally believe that understanding the history and where something comes from is significant in the spiritual process.
Jasmine and Fertility
Normally, when talking about a fertility association with an ingredient it can also be used to represent growth - not necessarily the physical fertility of carrying a baby. With Jasmine, it can still technically be used to represent growth but the fertility association in this flower is generally because of the actual appearance of the dried bud. Dried Jasmine buds look similar to a sperm - making them one of the more powerful ingredients to use in fertility magick.
One way to use Jasmine for fertility intentions is to stand outside during a full moon holding jasmine flowers in your hand, set your fertility intentions before (safely) burning the buds and dropping them into water. Spiritual and Metaphysical Symbolism of Jasmine
Are you feeling like something is holding you back? Are you running around in the same circle over and over again and can't seem to break the cycle? Is the energy feeling heavy and draining? There might be something (or someone) spiritually blocking you. Most of the time it's ourselves and our own trauma - but you can never rule out the ill intent of others...even if they don't intentionally send malice your way. But that's a topic for another day.
I was recently asked on TikTok about making a simmer pot to remove blockages and for whatever reason Spirit inspired me to take that intention and put it into a room spray. It's the same concept and you can use the ingredients to make a simmer pot as well. A room spray is another version of cleansing the energy of a space.
Before you get started, I do want to emphasize that the recipe can be adjusted to your needs. You also don't need to make this spray on a full moon if you're in a pinch. The full moon is just said to amplify the properties - so making it with just regular water (or even sun water to 'bring things to the light') will work just fine.
Suggested Ingredients
Rosemary - Memory recall. Said to assist with coming back into your power (remembering who you are).
Black Pepper - Said to remove heavy energies. Helps with releasing what no longer serves you. Sage - Cleanses and purifies. Parsley would be a good alternative for this symbolism if you don't have sage. Sesame Seeds - Reveal hidden truths. There's a reason you'll hear 'open sesame' when someone is trying to open a lock Lemon - Shine light on your shadows and what might be holding you back. It also raises the overall vibrations of a space and assists with cleansing energy. How To Make Full Moon Spray To Remove Blockages
Step 1: Place your ingredients (listed above) into a glass container that has a lid.
Step 2: Add water Step 3: Put lid on & place glass jar in a windowsill or if you have a safe space to leave it outside you can put it directly under the moonlight Step 4: Let sit overnight or for a few hours. Bring inside or take out of windowsill before sunrise Step 5: Strain solids and put liquid into a spray bottle Step 6: Spray your space while setting your intentions. If you're going to spray your drapes or bedding please do a test area first to make sure nothing will stain. Letting Go AffirmationsI no longer fear the darkness. I know my power. I stand in my power. I release any thoughts, limiting beliefs, and negative energy that does not align with my Higher Self. I am not afraid to face my shadows. I bring my darkness to light and work with it, not against it. I let go of what no longer serves me so that I can make space for the blessings I am aligned with. I forgive myself. I am patient with myself. I am thankful for my growth. My thoughts do not define me. I create a better version of myself with each passing moment. I make decisions that align with my soul's purpose. I release the darkness that I once absorbed. I am free. I also put this into a PDF format for those building their own recourse books. Click the image above to print or save your copy. Set Your Intentions
I know when I first started my spiritual journey hearing 'set your intentions' was extremely frustrating for me. What does that mean? How do you 'set intentions'? Do I just repeat words? How am I supposed to visualize if I can't 'see' things?
Setting intentions and learning to connect is probably the most difficult part of a spiritual journey - because there's no step by step process. Even with meditations and visualizations if you're not at a level in your journey to experience that you become frustrated. If you're not at a point where you can practice the visualization below, don't worry. It's about intentions -- the more you practice the more powerful your energy shifting becomes. Start with affirmations if that's where you're at in your journey. There is no wrong way of practicing. We all resonate differently. Visualization
Take a few moments to center yourself before you use your room spray. Find a safe space to take a few deep breaths. Allow any passing thoughts to be just that - passing thoughts. Acknowledge them, thank them, and let them flow away. Once you're in a grounded place, grab your room spray.
As you spritz your room imagine the water droplets attaching themselves to any dark energy. Any energy that is holding you, or someone in the home, back. Any blockages, any negative thoughts, any limiting beliefs. As the water droplet attaches to the heavy energy imagine it being filled with a white light. As that white light begins to fall you watch it fade out, encasing the darkness as it heals before neutralizing. If it helps, you can visualize the dark energy as black orbs and the spray as white orbs. When the two meet the white light absorbs the black before neutralizing and dissipating. Final Notes
I know I sound like a broken record, but it's so important for me to continuously remind everyone that your journey is unique. What resonates for me doesn't resonate for everyone and vise versa. Simmer pots don't resonate with everyone, but room spray might. Take the recipe and adjust it to what works best for you.
This is your journey. Allow others to offer guidance, but follow what resonates with your soul. You know yourself best. Trust your intuition - you're more aligned than you give yourself credit for. xx jen
Grief is an interesting emotion and feeling. No two people grieve in the same way - which makes it difficult to share your journey.
Growing up I wasn't allowed to talk about my loved ones who had passed - both sides of my family acted like death was this depressing or dark topic that you do not discuss. They were dead and that was the end of it. The best way to compare it is the way they talked about 'He who not be named' in Harry Potter. Things started changing about 10 years ago - around the time I started to find my voice. Interestingly enough, it was also around the time one side of my family started to fall apart - but that's nothing to mourn. It's a personal journey and would take 5 novels to share, but I can say I was held back and continuously trying to be molded into something that I wasn't. Growing through that without guidance was a struggle that I'm sure many can relate to. Through the experience I also started to reflect on my other relationships and friendships. Everything seemed like it was falling apart around me - but again, it hasn't turned out to be a negative experience. I relate it to the Tower Card in tarot - the one everyone dreads because the bottom falls out before the beauty can start being rebuilt.
In your spiritual journey & finding who you are you'll notice that many characters don't stick around for the next chapter. There are many reasons for that - some are offended by the new (and upgraded) version of you, some act astonished that you could ever behave a certain way, and some..well, some you will actually reconnect with later in the story after they've gone through their own personal growth.
I know it seems as if I'm going off topic, but this is all part of my journey with grief. As I mentioned before, I wasn't allowed to grieve in the way my soul needed in order to heal and grow going forward. It made for years (and I mean years) of not evolving. It also led to years of being stuck in a dark place and my energy being terrible. Every so often I feel that happening again - the forces of dark and light - it's just that now I'm aware of it and easily able to work through that darkness to heal it instead of feeding into it. I would like to clarify that I have had open conversations with my immediate family about this topic & what growing up was like. I am very comfortable having open conversations about it now - which would have been unheard of prior to my awakening. I truly do believe that I began to break the generational curses. Something happened & I completely shifted. It was quite literally a moment when a relative shut the door in my face when I tried to respectfully confront her about her lies. I was a 'child' (FYI I was in my 20's and she was hitting 50) and was not to speak to my elders about my opinion -- not in any certain way. You just weren't allowed to have a voice and the second I found mine everything changed. I also want to make it a point that it was a different time - sounds silly typing that knowing it was only a decade ago - but it's true. I understand it now and I don't blame my parents for anything or the way I was raised. They had their own experiences. They dealt with their own 'trauma' which was passed down through the generations - because everyone learned from their parents and how they were raised...until they broke the mold - which is exactly what is happening within my journey.
My point in sharing all of this with you is to emphasize that our journey's are unique. Give yourself credit for how far you've come. Honor your own personal journey. It may have taken decades to begin to learn healthy coping skills & how to heal - but you're making progress and that's a hell of a lot more than most people can say.
When it comes to grief I don't think anyone truly has a perfect system. The biggest thing that I have learned is that we never truly stop grieving. We strive to get to a place in our healing where we can grow forward while honoring the memory of our loved ones - but are we ever truly healed?
Be patient with yourself. Accept where you are in your healing journey. Feel the emotions - but never allow them to stick around long enough to capture you. Find ways to acknowledge...and release.
Some find writing a letter to your loved one helps. Tell them what you want to say as if they're away on vacation. Keep the letter for as long as you need - even if it's forever - or find the courage to release it by burning it (or shredding it if you don't have a safe way to burn). Others will find they connect better by visiting graves. I personally connect that way - which is an interesting thing to admit. I know they aren't there - I know that. I could talk to them just as easily at a park or at home, but growing up the cemetery was sort of how I 'visited my grandparents'. It's comforting to me to visit the graves of my grandparents. I know it's related to my childhood and I know my connection isn't stronger because it's their final burial place of the vessel they used in this life - but it's still how I find comfort. I was at a funeral a few years ago and I remember asking my cousin if she was going to go to her dad's grave. She said no & shared that if she wanted to connect with her dad there were a dozen other places that made her feel connected. That really stuck with me. I don't have that with my grandparents. I don't have those special memories or moments in a certain place that makes me feel connected to either one of them. I have the cemetery. So even though I connect with my ancestors daily - there will always be something about about that cemetery. I know they aren't there. I know their souls aren't tied down or connect to where their physical bodies were laid to rest, but I will always have a special connection to that cemetery. I want to encourage you to find your own ways to grieve. It's okay to be angry some days. It's okay to cry - even 25 years after a death. There is no right or wrong way to grieve - just don't allow someone else to dictate how you grieve. I wish I had been able to experience my grief the way my soul needed when I was growing up because I still struggle with loss. It was almost like death was something to be ashamed of. Talking about my loved ones - that was dark. It was depressing. It was heavy. You didn't talk about their memories because it was a reminder of what was lost. How ridiculous is that? To not celebrate the beautiful souls we had the privilege of crossing paths with in this crazy human experience. I never want to live that way again. I work daily (yes, daily) to bring to light what doesn't serve me & my connection to my Higher Self. I still don't know what my soul needs to grieve in a healthy way, but I can tell you that I am no longer ashamed of the way I choose to celebrate the memories of my loved ones rather than hide my emotions because those around me never evolved. Find your own ways to grieve - in a way that honors your loved ones and allows you to continue your own growth. I promise you, it's worth it. "What we remember, lives." xx jen Memorial Remembrance Simmer Pot Recipe
I won't lie - I am new to simmer pots. I discovered them in September of 2021 and have been obsessed with them ever since. When I first started making simmer pots I would use a large pot on the stove and while the aroma that filled the house was incredible, and there was something a little more magical about being able to stir the entire pot and re-focus on your intentions, I didn't like that I had to keep the stove lit for hours and hours. I decided to go on the hunt for an alternative to using my (gas) stove all day. I looked into an electric option, but why would I still use power to create my intentional simmer pots? I even looked into camping stove-tops but those used kerosine. I continued on my search until the perfect idea crossed my path (thank you, Universe!) - a butter warmer heated by a tealight candle. I recently started gaining some followers on TikTok who were asking for more information so I decided to write about my mini simmer pots in more detail. Mini Simmer Pot Pros
I'll continue to update the list of pros and cons as I get more use out of my own mini simmer pots, but so far I am sold on the smaller mini pots. Here are my list of pros to using the mini simmer pots so far:
Mini Simmer Pot Cons
As much as I love the mini simmer pots, there are some cons...
Mini Simmer Pots For The Win
Despite the cons I've discovered since embarking on my journey with mini simmer pots, my overall opinion is that the mini simmer pots are worth it. I absolutely love that they are 'powered' by tealight candles, use less ingredients, and you can keep them lit all day without using gas or electric.
I plan on eventually investing in a new style mini simmer pot from Japan, where I beleive they use it to warm or cook certain food dishes, called either Shabu-Shabu Pan or Sukiyaki pan - depending on the intention of their use. They're not actually intended to be used as simmer pots, so I look forward to learning more about them. Mini Simmer Pot Safety
I can't believe it even crossed my mind to have to include this, but please use common sense whenever fire is involved. Do not leave a lit candle unattended. Do not overfill your simmer pot. Use caution when replacing a tealight candle or emptying the simmer pot itself. The ceramic bowl needs to cool down before you remove it to empty the contents. Add water to your simmer pot as needed - the water evaporates more quickly in the smaller simmer pots. Make sure that your simmer pot is on a stable and flat surface - slippery or slick surfaces can cause a mess when going to empty your simmer pot.

I would be lying if I said that (re)connecting with Mother Earth was going smoothly. I have learned that I am not one with nature. I was prepping my sunflower head to dry out the seeds for Mabon and a bunch of tiny little worms started crawling out...all that I will say is that I think my ascension is less about Earth and more about heading back to my home planet.
Which brings me to an entirely different topic...outer space. I don't connect with the planets. Astrology doesn't resonate with me. I have paid for a natal birth chart based on my exact birth time and location and nope. Nothing fit the journey I have been on during this lifetime so far. Here's the thing - the moon...the moon and I share a special bond. I don't quite understand it, but it works and I'm embracing it. Maybe my connection to the planets (and nature) are chapters that I'm just not quite ready to open up to yet. So if the moon is what my connection is to then dagnabit! I'm going to embrace the heck out of it. What is Moon water?
The Moon is a powerful entity capable of assisting in some massive growth if you know how to utilize the energy the Moon gives off. Moon Water is intentional water, with the help of the energy of the moon.
Use your Moon Water...
What you should know before you make your own Moon water
Different phases of the moon carry different meanings. The Full Moon is said to be when the Moon is at it's most powerful - which is why it's the most common time to make your own Moon Water.
Each phase of the Moon is said to have different powers, with the Full Moon being the most energetically powered phase. I'm too new to the cycles of the Moon to speak confidently about their powers during different phases, but if you're looking to add Moon Water for a specific manifestation I strong encourage you to do a little more research. A Waxing Gibbous might be more beneficial than a New Moon. The basics are this: New Moon = fresh start, intentions, reboots and Full Moon = gratitude, fulfillment, reflection. New Moon think new beginnings and Full Moon think completion. Since everything is energy it's important to remember that if you're going to make Moon Water you need to raise your vibrations. Writing down your desire when you just got done screaming at your partner probably isn't going to work very well in the long run. Do you really want that energy to be what's stored the next time you decide to use your Moon Water? Meditating beforehand is a great way to clean your mind, set your ego aside, and raise your frequency to match what you desire. How to make your own Moon water
Finally - we get to the fun part! There are hundreds of places you could buy Moon Water from and while it's great if you're in a pickle or ran out and need some before the next Full Moon arrives...do you really want to trust someone else with something so delicate? Besides, making your own Moon Water costs little to nothing and you're able to strengthen that connection to the Goddess of the night sky.
Step 1: Cleanse your own energy
As I mentioned before you don't want to work on this magical experience only to drag your past or negative emotions into every single thing you do in the future, right? Making sure that your ego is set aside is going to be the most important step of any of this. If you can't go into this with a clear conscious then the entire process is going to be off.
It will take all of 5 minutes to put on some calming music (YouTube and Spotify are great free options to find both), sit down, close your eyes, and connect with your Highest Self. Step 2: Cleanse your glass container
Making sure that you use glass is another important step you don't want to skip. Plastic allows artificial components to leach to your purified water - do you really want to muddy that? It could be a mason jar or an old glass bottle of spring water. It should be clear and have a lid.
Cleaning your glass container before hand could be as setting your intention or you could use the smoke from a bundle of sage. Step 3: Fill glass container with purified water
I suppose this step is relative to your water source where you live. Personally, our water has been unhealthy for well over a decade (in fact, just recently they sent out notifications it didn't even pass the EPA standards. Do you know how low even those standards are? I can't imagine how disgusting the water actually is to consume.)
If you're like me and don't trust your water source, get yourself some purified water and fill your container. Step 4: Grab paper and pen (optional)
I know, I know. After reading this next one it's going to be ironic that I put 'optional' above. This step could be skipped if you're like me and venturing more towards Chaos Magick.
If you know about Chaos Magick then you're probably screaming about this entire blogpost, but hey...I'm a mixed breed. Chaos Magick with a dash of traditional magick is my perfect combo. This step is for those who connect more with rituals. If that sounds like you, then keep on readin'. With a clear mind, write down your intention for this Moon Water on a piece of paper. Again, depending on what you're using it for or the phase of the Moon it will vary. It could be generic in just asking the Moon to help remove negative energy when you use the water or it could be very specific in asking the Moon to allow you to remain thankful and strong as you go through your journey. Do what feels right and follow your gut - write down what you feel most comfortable with and don't second guess yourself. If you want to go the traditional route, fold the piece of paper either towards you to attract what you're asking for or away from you if you're asking for something to be removed. Step 5: Get magical
Oddly enough, your Moon Water doesn't need to charge by being directly outside. It helps amplify the charge, but it's not required. So if you're in an apartment and don't have a place to put your water outside you can put it in a windowsill or somewhere that the Moonlight will hit.
If you're blessed enough to have access to leaving your Moon Water outdoors, take your container (and paper) outside and find a place you feel comfortable setting your jar down. Connect with your jar and repeat your intention, out loud or in your head, and ask the Moon's permission to borrow her energy. If you wrote an affirmation, put the folded piece of paper underneath your container before setting it down. Leave out overnight to absorb the most energy, but if you can't leave it out all night a few hours will suffice. Thank the Moon for allowing you to borrow her energy and wallah! You've got yourself some powerfully charged water. If you wrote an affirmation it is up to you on how to dispose of the paper. If you aren't drinking the water the affirmation can be folded and put into your water. You can burn your paper (in a safe setting) while asking the Universe for your intention or you could even bury your paper in the surface of the earth. Everyone has a different style and everyone connects differently. By following your own instinct you are heightening your intuition and connecting more strongly with your Highest Self so be sure to follow what resonates with you. Final notes on Moon Water
Have you used Moon Water? What was your experience? Let me know in the comments.Chaos Magick. How did it take me this long to discover what you were and that you resonate oh so perfectly with my soul?! Well, I guess I should say it half resonates. I still believe in Gods and higher powers. Over the years I have read dozens of books, watched hours upon hours of videos, seen multiple (legit) psychic mediums and yet..I still couldn't figure out how to pass the level I had been stuck at for so long. Well, I think I've finally figured out my missing piece: I do not resonate with rules. I know, big surprise. Commitment issues and doesn't work well with being restricted? Doesn't sound like me at all. (I wish there was a way to express the amount of sarcasm I had while typing that.) Maybe it has something to do with growing up Roman Catholic - which I would like to emphasize is far more intense than just Catholic. Not Roman Catholic? Going to Hell. Question something the Bible says? Straight to Hell. But wait, if you repent after murdering someone just say a few Hail Mary's and you'll be absolved of your sins and you're on the path to Heaven again. I don't think I ever aligned with organized religion. In fact, I got kicked out of CCD almost every single week and was sent to see the Priest because I questioned everything and wouldn't accept, 'that's where your faith comes in,' as an answer when Sister couldn't give me an actual answer to my question. To each their own with the religion of their choosing. All that I am saying is that I personally never understood Catholicism. It doesn't make me an Atheist (looking at you, dad) and it doesn't mean that I'm headed straight to the Fiery Realm (which is a topic for another day). My purpose to sharing this information is to express why learning about Chaos Magick was that missing piece of the puzzle for me. When I first started to learn about manifestation it all sounded wonderful on paper. Write down your intention 55 times a day for 5 days straight while visualizing what you want to manifest? No problem! Write down what you want on a bay leaf under a full moon and burn it? Absolutely! Spin around 3 times while hopping on one foot with your left arm in the air? You got it! Okay, that last one was a joke, but I think you get the point. None of those rituals, routines, or whatever else you want to call them worked for me. How could I be doing something so wrong that nothing the books or resources talked about were working for me? I kept hearing the same messages. I kept being told the same thing and nothing made sense. Enter Chaos Magick. Chaos MagickTo be perfectly clear, Chaos Magick is something entirely new to me. I don't even like calling something a ritual or magic(k) -- I think a lot of that has to do with how Hollywood and society transformed something so beautiful into this darkness that people should be afraid of. Probably connected to that good ol' Catholic Guilt, haha! So, let's get down to it...what is Chaos Magick? I honestly don't think there is a way to accurately describe Chaos Magick because it doesn't follow any sort of definition. Chaos Magick is based on the idea that everything is permitted. You don't go based on a tradition or a ritual someone else created. You go based on what you feel and connect with. What you believed to be true yesterday may not be true today. For example, if I was trying to manifest $17,000 I might write down on a bay leaf, charge it with my intention, and burn it. The next time I want to manifest $17,000 I might burn a white candle and call it a day. It's all about intention - there are no rules. There's also the idea that rules can exist - if that's what you believe. Everything in Chaos Magick is based on the practitioners personal belief system - something that could change from day to day. Maybe that's why it's not a common practice. How could someone truly learn the value of the power the have inside them when you can't follow any ritual, rules, or explanation? Simmer Pots: Putting Chaos Magick To The TestHave you ever heard of an Intentional Simmer Pot? Up until 4 days ago I had never heard of them but thanks to TikTok they are my new favorite obsession. When I first saw a Simmer Pot I went down the rabbit hole trying to find my perfect recipe to manifest exactly what my heart desired. The thing was, those recipes didn't make sense to me. Then I started thinking...who decided that a certain ingredient held a certain power? Wouldn't that be the same as following a religion - just being told what to believe? Now, I do have to say that there are certain herbs or materials that I will always associate with something specific. Maybe it's my soul's intuition or maybe it's so embedded in my brain that I can't see beyond what I've been conditioned to believe. either way, a bay leaf is always going to be associated with prosperity and abundance for me. So I headed to the store and started looking through dried herbs, dried flowers, and essential oils. I grabbed what I believe to connect with what I was looking manifest and made my first simmer pot. To be honest, I can't even remember what I really put in there. I know it smelled like fall as it was boiling. The first two simmer pots I made were more focused on cleansing and clearing out stagnant energy - which is ironic because they both smelled like fall. My third simmer pot (proudly made today) was all about manifesting abundance and allowing myself to accept it when it arrived but it smelled like summer - lavender and lemon - what I would normally associate with the cleaning out old energy. Every ingredient was cleansed and blessed with my intention for that specific ingredient - combined to attract or clear out what my energy needed. I know in the near future I'm going to be writing up some Simmer Pot recipes and it's going to go against the idea of Chaos Magick but that's the beauty of Chaos Magick...the rules don't apply. One day that lemon is going to hold an intention of fresh starts and the next day it's going to hold the intention of banishing negative energy. It's all about intention - that's the beauty of it! You are in control of what you give power or intention to. How freakin' cool is that? I would like to end on this note: everything resonates differently with individuals. Chaos Magick makes sense to me, but it may not make sense to you and that's perfectly okay! If you resonate with following guidance and tradition then keep following that route -- I strongly encourage following whatever works for you in leveling up on your spiritual journey.
For me, that's a mix of Chaos Magick and tradition... and I've never felt more at home. Until next time... xx jen
HOLY CRAP, folks! This is an exciting blog to post about.
If you follow anything I write, you'll know that I had mentioned how the darkness seeps in and takes over, causing me to get caught up in not being able to move forward. The good news is, when this happens I seem to bounce back and have a stronger connection to Spirit than before the darkness tried to attach itself to me. So...I am thrilled to share that I have been practicing getting to the next step in this journey, consistently. I usually 'fall off the wagon' by this point in the game, so the fact that I am still actively practicing on strengthening my connection with Spirit is showing me that I am finally ready. I want to also note that everyone has their own experience. You could read this blog and think, 'all coincidences', and that is totally cool. That's your truth - and you freakin' live that truth. I choose to trust that Spirit and I are growing closer and I will be able to connect clearly sooner than I had originally thought. With all of that out of the way...let's get to the good stuff. I have made contact with at least (2) Spirits Guides andddddd drum roll please.....the infamous Papa D. Unveil Your Intuition
A few months ago I bought the book Unveil Your Intuition (Available on Amazon) by a psychic medium I started to follow, Motherella. When I initially got the book I read the first few pages, got as far as the 'intentional walk' and never opened it again.
In fact, I was even ready to give the book away because I just wasn't connecting with it. Then, a whole bunch of (weird) stuff started happening with aliens (yes, you read that correctly and yes, I know I sound insane. So let's replace aliens with reincarnation). In one way I was connecting, because I couldn't stop delving in, and in another way I was completely cut off because nothing was happening. I was stuck - surprise, surprise. Somewhere in-between 'reincarnation' and now there was a shift. I started researching more about this thing called a Galactic Council which led me back to the idea that I wanted to talk to Spirit, not my alien family. Wallah! Enter Unveil Your Intuition again. Unveil Your Intuition is basically a read-along workbook. Motherella offers exercises that you practice on your own -- it's teaching you how to connect on your own. For whatever reason, this book just sat and collected dust for months before my Guides felt it was time and led me back to the book. It's also interesting that Motherella is actually a cousin of my cousin -- I never would have discovered this person on my own. Of all the psychics I've researched over the years and looked for someone new (in my area), she never popped up a single time. I just find it interesting with how the pieces come together and the timing of it all. (Finally) Connecting With One Of My Guides
We overthink everything. We've been conditioned to not believe something unless there is hard physical proof in front of our eyes that we can feel and touch. If there's no proof it must be an illusion, right?
I have been very trusting over the last, let's say 2 years, that what I experience is Spirit. That being said, I still feel this huge blockage where I can't sense things. Things are happening all around me, and inside of me, but I honestly do not know the difference between good and bad...light and dark...real and illusion. Everything has blended together and with that, nothing feels special. When I say special I mean that in the past my signs had a different sensation. If I have a vision right now I have no way of knowing if that was a vision or it really happened -- it's a very bizarre chapter to be in. Everyone has their own journey and for whatever reason my journey has been to blend reality with the unknown. What happened next happened 'inside my head', so to speak, and it happened in my own voice -- which is baffling to me. Shouldn't Spirit be communicating in a different tone or in picture form? Nope. Right now, Spirit is talking to me as if I'm talking to myself. Yes, you're right if you're thinking that it's making it more difficult to connect. I'm literally talking to myself...except I'm not. So... with Unveil Your Intuition, Motherella there are basic exercises that you complete and write down your answers to. It's more or less asking your question and writing down the first thing that you sense. Simple enough. I won't share what my answers were, but I can say that it's freakin' weird. I asked to connect with one of my Guides (everyone has multiple Guides). You ask for a name, what their purpose is for being your Guide (love, compassion, finances, etc.), what era they're from...you're basically speed dating. There's also a point when you tell your Guide how you want them to confirm the interaction is real and give them instructions on how to reveal themselves in the physical world. I asked my Guide to have his name show up. It's a normal name, but really not all that common where it would be in every article I opened up. Within an hour of that exercise I went on my computer, avoiding work and crawling out of my skin for whatever reason, and decided I wanted to watch The Real Housewives (no shame here, folks!) The only thing was, I didn't know what days new episodes were posted for which season so I went to BravoTV and wouldn't you know...right there in front of my face in big bold letters was my Guides name. Not a name from any of the shows I've watched on Bravo. There were about a dozen factors that went into that moment that could have been different, but instead I was led to that very moment to receive the confirmation from my Guide that I asked for. This was the second Guide I've confidently connected with. I am still working to connect on a deeper level with him, but for now I am more than happy with our little interaction and I look forward exploring that connection further! Papa D....It's Finally Happening
To be perfectly clear I have connected with my Grandpa before, but not intentionally. Whenever I have asked to connect with him it just never worked. I know that he's given me signs before -- very, very clear signs -- but I've never been able to talk with him.
What sucks is like I mentioned earlier on I'm not connecting in a way that allows me to feel connected. So here I am finally able to connect with Papa D...and it just sounds like my own voice. Weird, right? Okay, okay...get to the point, Jen. So this was actually through a video and not Unveil Your Intuition, but that's probably not relevant. So during the video they taught an exercise to connect with your loved one - anyone you wanted to connect with. I chose my Grandpa (obviously). The instructions were to tell (not ask, tell) your loved one to provide a scent...any scent but something that would confirm it was them. I am going to be 100% honest with this --- I had no thoughts in my head when this happened. I mean, it could have been subconscious but there was nothing going on in my mind when this subtle scent of beer filled my nostrils. I couldn't tell you what type of beer it was, just that it was beer. It wasn't potent or overpowering, but it was definitely beer. ((My Grandpa could always been seen with a beer in his hand...more than likely Old Style)) One of the steps was to choose a name - after the instructions finished it was made more clear that it was to be a 'random' name, but I missed that memo because I was so excited. In the meantime, Annette was what came to me...because it's my grandma's name. I tried to backtrack to choose a random name but I said, 'nope...it's stuck now' and I just thought that would be the end of it and nothing else would happen because I messed up the directions. There was a comment about how within the next 24 hours whatever name that was would appear either in text or audio...some way that name was going to be very clearly placed in front of you as confirmation that you were, in fact, communicating with your loved one. Well....wouldn't you freakin' have it...
The following day (which happens to be today) I was driving home from the Farmer's Market and just before I got home, the Podcast I was listening to had ended and I decided to switch to the radio - only to have 'Annette' right in front of my freakin' face. (See the photo above)
A couple of notes....
So, there you have it. The first (confident) contact I've had with my grandpa. This is opening me up to an entire new experience and I feel as if it's the fast track to opening up with clear communication (what I've lacked and what has been holding me back from moving forward). Until next time... xx jen I would love to suggest that my lapse between updates (and spiritual growth) was due to a dark energy trying to take over just this one time, but the truth is every single time I start to open up to Spirit there is a darkness that tries to overtake my soul. I have no other way to explain it and I have said it many times before - it feels like being mean is easy. That's the only way for me to truly express what happens when the darkness starts to creep in. It's the light that is difficult to stay on track with when the darkness comes knocking. So, what do you do when you can feel the darkness creep in? How do you overcome those negative thoughts, feelings, and emotions? I wish there was a simple answer - so far I haven't been able to find a simple fix that truly works. Ronnie, a psychic medium mentor of mine, advised me to work on grounding myself and stressed the importance of protecting myself in white light. It's a lot easier said than done, though. The darkness....man, that darkness is powerful. Sometimes it comes in the form of anger and just pure ruthlessness towards others. Sometimes it comes in the form of depression that I don't even know exists until I've broken free of it. One thing is for sure, when the darkness starts to attach itself to my soul it becomes more and more difficult to break free each time it happens. As I started my journey into learning about psychic mediumship and following various psychic mediums I started to discover that most mediums were not the love and light style you see from Theresa Caputo. I used to be quick to assume that if they weren't sharing their gifts with a positive and light filled attitude then they couldn't possibly be genuine, right? The more I delve into this journey the more I realize how very wrong that assumption has been. Now, I'm not saying that these people are sacrificing lambs or are calling people names. I just mean they aren't always...composed. A relative of mine has an in-law who is a psychic medium and I heard horror stories of how she was towards her own family - how on earth could this woman be so connected with Spirit that she could give psychic medium readings?! So, I went to one of her group readings to see for myself and I was extremely surprised to see how accurate her readings actually were. I started to learn more about the balance between light and dark. I also began seeing a reiki healer who helped bring a lot of my past darkness to the surface so that I could work on releasing it. That's when I started to realize this psychic mediumship is no joke and you need to have a strong foundation in order to truly open up. The Signs That Told Me Something Was BrewingIf I wrote about everything that has happened over the last 8 weeks it would be enough to write a novel, so I won't bore you with the drawn out details. Here are some highlights of how I knew something dark was on the horizon...
I think I know where the darkness was being sent from; this wasn't just a case of me being opened up to Spirit and some random entity leaching on. This was very much intentional - whether it was sent from this person directly or indirectly. This person is angry and bitter. When they get upset with their own life they take it out on others and I truly believe that angry lil' ball of energy was coming for me to try and destroy my being so I could turn into that angry, bitter ol' person. You'll be happy to know that I broke the cycle and that anger vanished. I sent that dark energy back to where it came from...with intention. (If there's anything you read in this blog it should be the next section. Don't be bitter, be better. We need to heal the wounds of the world, not pour salt into them.) So...How Did I Break The Cycle? When I said that I sent that dark energy back to where it came from with intention it's probably not what you're thinking. It is my personal belief that you do not need to banish an energy or send it back to force the person who sent it to deal with the anger and darkness.
We need to heal. When I say that I sent back the energy I mean that I sent it back with love and healing wishes, so that when it arrives back to wherever it came from it's not filled with negative emotion. It's filled with peace. How else are we going to make this world a better place if we aren't healing the wounds of our ancestors? Throughout my journey I've encountered many healers and came up with a combination of advice to find what works for me. When you're feeling any sort of negative emotion (anger, anxiety, frustration, etc.) take a moment to pause. Stop whatever you are doing and take a deep breath. Close your eyes and calm your thoughts. Repeat the words, "This feeling of (insert emotion) does not belong to me. I send it back to where it came from wrapped with love so that it can heal on it's journey home." I like to end that exercise by a physical wipe off my body. If I'm feeling a lump in my throat I'll take my hands and physically brush my fingertips along my throat down towards the floor and continue 'brushing' off my chest. After I've finished I'll do a final shake of my hands to remove the energy and send it down to the ground. Sometimes I have to do this exercise multiple times a day (often frequently in a short period of time) and sometimes I just have to practice this exercise a single time. It depends on the situation and how much negativity is trying to attach itself to me. Now, I also practice other rituals - if that's what you'd like to call them. I burn sage (with intention, but I'll get to that another day), I meditate, I listen to calming music, I sit outside...all activities to bring you closer to your higher self. There is no simple solution. This journey takes time, patience, understanding, and more patience. Eventually it gets easier to fight off the negative energy. To be perfectly honest, whenever one of these 'episodes' happens to me and I bounce back, I bounce back more connected to Spirit than ever before. I guess there's always a silver lining, right? xx jen We've all seen it in the movies: Someone shuts their eyes and a scene begins to play. A little boy is skipping along the edge of the platform on the NYC subway, loses balance, and falls right down onto the tracks! But the scene continues - the train lights start to shine and no one can hear the cries coming from the little boy as the train pulls into the station! The scene ends and the person's eyes open back up...only to see that same little boy skipping along the edge of the platform. The person looks around and no one is paying attention, just like in the scene he (or she) just saw in their mind. Just before the little boy stumbles down onto the tracks the person runs over and rescues him before the scene has a very different ending. So...is that real? Can someone seriously predict the future? That's the big argument isn't it - that if they're psychic medium why can't they tell someone the winning lottery numbers? Psychics and Winning Lottery NumbersThis is probably the biggest argument made by skeptics - if someone is psychic then why can't they predict the winning lottery numbers? Most psychic mediums are interpreting messages from Spirit about the past. In the rare event that someone is able to predict the future it's usually a flash of a situation that is shared in the hopes of it not actually manifesting into reality. There is also this sort of unwritten rule when you tap into your gift; it will not be used for selfish gains. I don't mean selfish like profiting from your gift (we all need to make a living here, folks!) but I mean cheating someone else to get ahead. Which is exactly what asking for winning lottery numbers would do - cheat someone else out of what was meant to be theirs. I don't want to spend a ton of time focusing on this topic because I do believe that it is possible to predict the winning numbers, but anyone who is able to tap into their gifts and cheats another person out of what was meant to be theirs isn't a psychic you'd want to associate yourself with. My First PremonitionAs far as I can remember I have only had one premonition - and I didn't know what it was until the event actually took place. Now, let me be perfectly clear: this is not an exciting story. But I do feel that it's important to share this story, as silly as it may be, because it was technically a premonition. One sunny day I was outside and I can't recall exactly what I was doing, but I know that I was standing on the brick path in front of my house. I closed my eyes, nothing more than to blink, and in that tiny sliver of a moment I saw something! It was clear as a day; a skinned knee. Technically it was more of a cut. It happened within the blink of an eye, quite literally, but while it was happening it felt much longer. I had no idea what that meant, or why I was seeing it. I sort of brushed it off because what was I really going to do with that information? I had nothing else to go on and this was years, and years ago before I had even seen my first psychic medium. Well, as The Universe would have it, the very next day that skinned knee happened right in front of my freakin' eyes! And you know where it happened? I hope you guessed it - on the brick walkway. My mom was walking on the brick, her flip flop got caught, and she tripped....only to stand up with a cut on her knee just like the one I had seen in my vision the day before. How freakin' weird is that?! (My mom was totally fine, BTW.) I think this experience was for one reason; to show me the possibilities and to allow me to get excited about tapping into my gifts. Do I think I'm going to go around preventing death like the Final Destination films? Absolutely not - but I do think at some point in my future being able to receive messages about the future will be part of my gift. Premonitions: Real or Fake?Real. What other response did you expect after reading my story about my own premonition? I don't know enough about premonitions to really understand them, or to know the difference between predicting the future or seeing a message about the past, but I can say with all certainty that being able to see the future is 100% possible.
What are your thoughts about premonitions? I'd love to see some opinions in the comments! xx jen |
